Dr Sharon Dixon
Biomechanics researcher and applied sport scientist, specialising in lower limb biomechanics.

Sharon’s World-leading research in sports injury and footwear includes working with sport performers and industry partners, including runners, sports teams (Exeter City F.C., Exeter Chiefs Rugby), military populations (Royal Navy, Royal Marines, Army), and footwear companies (Mizuno, Cosyfeet and Ida Sports).
Sharon has a PhD in lower limb biomechanics and completed postdoctoral research positions at the Universities of Nottingham and Calgary, before embarking on an academic career at the University of Exeter (1999-2024). She is a member of the Executive Committee of the international Footwear Biomechanics Group, having previously chaired this group.
She is passionate about utilising her extensive research experience to provide a gait analysis and biomechanics consulting service, making these technologies available to all.
Methods used for gait analysis have been carefully selected based on experience in the fields of research and service provision.
